About Lighthouse and other scanners

Lighthouse 13.5 looks for the old file name, ai-catalog.json, unless robots.txt or a rel="ai-catalog" link points it to your file. So a site with its file only at /.well-known/ard.json can see "Not applicable" there. That does not mean your file is wrong, and an Agentmap line in robots.txt fixes it. Questions

Do you store the domain I check?

No. We keep no list of checked domains, and we count checks by result only. A result stays in a private cache for 10 minutes so a repeat check is fast, and then it is gone. If your domain is already in our index, the ARD file check updates its row in the publisher table on this page.

Why does Lighthouse say Not applicable?

Lighthouse 13.5 looks for your ARD file in three places: an Agentmap line in robots.txt, a rel="ai-catalog" link, or /.well-known/ai-catalog.json, the old file name. If your file is only at /.well-known/ard.json, Lighthouse does not find it and says Not applicable. Your file is fine. Add an Agentmap line to robots.txt and Lighthouse finds it too.
